Turkey launches World’s First Comprehensive Mobile Government Portal Application at CeBIT Eurasia, President tries out app
Chooses future-proof Aradiom Mobile Framework, with the largest device support in the business.
Turkey, an emerging leader in the deployment of electronic and mobile applications for government services, has chosen Aradiom to roll out a wide array of citizen services for mobile phones. The Turkish President Abdullah Gül attended the unveiling today during the CeBIT Eurasia 2009 conference, trying out the application and asking questions of the developers. Aradiom Mobile Framework™, the proprietary platform behind its applications, was a natural choice because of the framework's unmatched flexibility:
Additionally, one of the most impressive features of the Aradiom Mobile Framework™, is that it maintains a modular device library to which new phone models are constantly added as they are released by their manufacturers, ensuring future-proof functionality for apps built today even on tomorrow’s phones.
“At Aradiom, we solve the device fragmentation problem. None of the phone manufacturers wanted their phones to be commoditized like the PC, and as such made sure they were different with minimal cross compatibility. This of course stifled the development of apps. What we do is level that playing field of incompatibility, giving developers one creation environment and almost all phones as a potential market, not just a few selected brands or models.” says Selahaddin Karatash, CEO of Aradiom. “A developer will no longer have to choose which mobile platform to develop apps for, as they can develop for all in one go. All phones become one.”
Among the reasons why the AMF was chosen to deliver mGovernment services, was the security required, as SMS was not seen as secure enough, which is how such services have traditionally been delivered to the mobile. As such, an on phone application with authentication was paramount. The new mGovernment application incorporates extensive security including mSignature and differing levels of encryption. Additionally, there had to be as broad device support as possible. As a national service, one couldn’t just offer convenience to those with iPhones and Blackberrys. It had to be democratized to make sure even citizens with the humblest of mobile phones can make use of such services. Aradiom also offered rapid deployment, the most extensive device support and the highest commitment to security with multiple layers for maximum effectiveness and ease of use.
The Aradiom Mobile Framework will be made widely available to the developer community later this year, via web based tools, along with the release of a number of high profile apps to showcase the strength of the platform, revolutionizing app design for mobiles as we know it.
Aradiom (http://www.aradiom.com) was founded in 2002, and operates out of offices in Turkey and Switzerland.
mGovernment was commissioned by the Turkish Ministry of Communication, and moves government services from the desktop to the mobile phone securely and efficiently.
