Rhys Sharp, SCC’s Chief Technology Officer, endorses a new business ready technology platform that will help organisations adapt their infrastructures to maximise the available benefits from virtualisation. SCC’s recommendations were made at IP Expo 2009.

“Maximising the opportunities to create business agility can be achieved through hardware supported virtualisation strategies that cost less to manage from day one and avoid capital expense,” argued Rhys Sharp.
“This can be achieved by deploying new technologies that enable the physical and virtual infrastructure to be converged and managed as one. Moreover, organisations can take advantage of affordable access to best of breed solutions or hosted applications that can be delivered back as a service.”
The annual Technology Networking event, at which SCC’s CTO presented, was attended by leading IT decision makers from the UK’s best known enterprises and the world’s leading global technology brands. This includes HP, a leading business partner of SCC, with whom it was invited to share a speaker platform.
The event saw the first UK showing of a new converged infrastructure (Matrix) from HP. Presented as the foundation for a Business Ready Infrastructure – it is the industry’s first converged server, software, storage and networking platform.
Discussing the new HP BladeSystem Matrix, SCC’s CTO highlighted its capabilities in uniting the tools, processes and architecture of the physical and virtual server world in order to create business agility.
