Oct. 8, 2009 - PRLog -- The annual “Expand Your Horizons” video contest, hosted by the WYSE Work Abroad Association, encourages young participants of work abroad programmes to share their experiences on YouTube. More than 100 participants entered this year’s competition by uploading short snappy video diaries which were then judged by a panel of industry experts.

Videos were judged on creativity and the degree to which they supported the mission of WYSE Work Abroad “to facilitate and increase international youth travel and exchange through the promotion of culturally-oriented work abroad activities”.

Rodrigo Macias scooped the cash prize of US$2,000 with his winning video “Work and Travel: the Extravaganza” which is proving to be very popular on YouTube. His summer placement was arranged by the InterExchange Camp USA programme.

In the video, Rodrigo credited his time working in the USA with helping to improve his English-speaking abilities and giving him the opportunity to meet wonderful new friends from around the world.

Launched in 2008, the annual “Expand Your Horizons” contest will open again in January 2010, when young participants representing WYSE Work Abroad member organisations will be invited to submit short videos. The winner will be announced at the World Youth & Student Travel Conference in late September.
