Daniel Pambianchi and Véhicule Press to Launch New Wine Book

Daniel Pambianchi, author of best-seller “Techniques in Home Winemaking,” and publisher Véhicule Press are announcing the launch of a new general-interest wine book for the spring of 2010.

Oct. 7, 2009 - PRLog -- Véhicule Press will publish expert home winemaker and commercial winery operator Daniel Pambianchi’s new book “Wine Myths, Facts & Snobberies: 81 Questions & Answers on the Science and Enjoyment of Wine” to be released in the spring of 2010.

“Wine Myths, Facts & Snobberies” answers some of the most common and quirky questions from wine lovers and debunks wine myths about, for example, wine service and the health benefits of wine. Answers are based on the author’s wine science knowledge and experience, opinions from experts in the field, and literature search. Topics range from the science of winemaking to wine styles, faults, wine service, health concerns, and frauds. For example, it discusses why Riesling smells of petrol, how ice wine is produced, the problem of corked wine and the shift to screwcaps, why so many different kinds of tasting glasses, the differences among organic, biodynamic and sustainable winemaking, what makes red wine beneficial in the so-called French Paradox, and some of the more common adulteration frauds in the wine world.

This will be a must-read for winemakers or anyone having an interest in wine appreciation or wine science in general.
