Oct. 7, 2009 - PRLog -- A new company, Wathes Limited, is to be formed from the four separate operating companies that currently make up the mechanical and electrical (M&E) service and contracting group Electrum Holdings. www.wathesltd.co.uk

Headquartered at Leicester in the UK, Wathes Limited will bring the knowledge, skills and experience of all its regional and specialist staff into one national organisation. The benefits this change will bring to customers include:

•   A single point of contact for all customers’ mechanical and electrical service, maintenance and contracting needs

•   A closer customer relationship, enabling the new organisation to anticipate and respond to customers’ requirements

•   Greater efficiency and economies of scale

The reorganisation follows a strategic review commissioned by Electrum Holdings Vice Chairman Simon Jones. The four existing group companies – AC2000, EINW, Electrical Installations North West and Electrum Services – will be restructured into two major operational units: Wathes Service and Wathes Contracts. Customers will have access to all the Wathes company’s capability through a new centralised customer management function.

“Having assessed the needs of our customers, we have taken the decision to establish a structure that better matches the demands of the UK M&E sector. Setting up a single company will enable us to identify and roll out best practice across the whole organisation, to be more effective and improve our operational delivery capability,” said Jones.

T.H. Wathes, from which Electrum Holdings evolved, was among the earliest UK contractors for electrical, commercial refrigeration, and air conditioning solutions. “Our return to the Wathes name underlines our commitment to provide a high quality, nationwide service,” observed Jones. “Our goal is to build upon our established position as a reliable, quality supplier to the M&E sector and expand our business through organic growth and acquisitions to better address market demand.”

Wathes Limited will offer customers simple access to all its service and contracts expertise. The consolidated business will achieve an enhanced customer focus that will help customers to:

•   Fully understand the extent of the company’s national and regional M&E and service capability

•   Decide how best to implement new initiatives, such as energy efficiency directives and R22 legislation

•   Identify sources of innovative financing, such as the Carbon Trust interest free loan scheme

“Our aim is to work more closely with customers for their and our mutual benefit,” continued Jones. “We believe that our new structure will help both Wathes Limited and our customers address the challenges of the industry and identify new opportunities for growth.”
