The Environmental Impact Authority (EIA) have granted permission for thirty-seven new Phuket property developments. These include the superbly located Kata Rocks, in Kata and The Lofts at Outrigger Laguna Phuket Resort and Villas, Bangtao.
The approved projects represent a mix of hotels and apartments distributed across Phuket island; the majority of new approved developments are located in Phuket City and the areas surrounding Patong, with just six new developments earmarked for the ore popular north west coast of the island around Surin and Bang Tao beaches.
EIA agreement has still not be met for the long awaited Taj Exotica Resort and Spa located on Koh Lon (Lon Island) off the south east coast of Phuket.
As the high season approaches we are expecting to see more new projects launch as the inventory of existing properties diminishes and investor confidence returns.
