As a full time real estate agent in the Seattle, WA area - I am going to make this press release about short sales and REO property in the Seattle area short and to the point with no fluff or filler.
A Seattle short sale occurs when a home owner sells a house and can't pay off the real estate closing costs and underlying mortgage or lien obligations with the proceeds. Unfortunately, I see many properties coming on the market of the short sale variety that aren't approved by the lender or lien holders on the property. This causes stress for everyone involved. First, when an offer is received on this type of listed property, it usually takes 75 days or more for the lender to make a decision.
