Learn.com CEO Jim Riley to Lend 10 Years of SaaS Insights to Panel at ETRE Global Tech Summit

Learn.com President and CEO Jim Riley, an expert on Software as a Service (SaaS), will lend his insights to a roundtable discussion of SaaS and the potential of enterprise IT resources at the ETRE Global Technology Summit in Paris.

Oct. 6, 2009 - PRLog -- Software as a Service (SaaS) to Enhance Global Commerce and Employee Productivity

Under Riley’s leadership, Learn.com developed the eLearning industry’s first and only true SaaS platform more than ten years ago and has since become the leader in on-demand workforce development and productivity.  The ETRE Summit will be held October 6-9 2009 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Paris, France.

As leading CEOs, entrepreneurs and financiers from the information technology and communications industries gather at ETRE, one item they will attempt to resolve is the confusion about what can be considered SaaS. Riley asserts that a purely SaaS architecture consists of a multitenant environment where every user shares the same infrastructure – it is not enough to simply offer on-demand services.

As SaaS begins to take hold in Europe, Riley will offer the worldwide participants at the conference his suggestions and best practices based on how SaaS has been deployed in the U.S.

“Now more than ever companies must seek new ways to find a competitive edge,” said Jim Riley, President and CEO of Learn.com. “The SaaS business model has unparalleled benefits in that it doesn’t require a software installation and users across the globe have access to the same infrastructure resources. This is the future of technology and employee lifecycle management and development.”

Riley is responsible for the long term growth and ultimate vision of Learn.com and has over 25 years of experience in the software and consumer products industries. Under Riley’s leadership, Learn.com experienced tremendous growth in revenue and profitability in FY 2008 at a time when many businesses were faced with greater uncertainty as a result of the tumultuous economy.
