List & Label 15: Reporting in the Third Dimension

According to the company, the two top features are a comprehensive and significantly faster data supply for .NET and the newly added drilldown reporting. Among further innovations and im-provements, List & Label 15 now includes a 64-bit version and supports Visual Studio 2010 Beta and RAD Studio 2010. Probably around the same time as the release of Windows 7, List & Label 15 is expected to have the "Compatible with Windows 7" logo designation.

When it comes to the improved data supply for .NET Jochen Bartlau, Development Manager, explains enthusiastically: "Until now, the data for data binding had to be loaded into a DataSet. The new version accesses databases directly." The now existing solution saves users the equivalent of 25 pages of code and hence a lot of time. Developers and users alike will also enjoy the userfriendly way of preparing hierarchical data with drilldown reporting, says Jochen Bartlau. Even with very large and complex databases, end-users can now quickly access the information they are looking for and export it in different formats. The PDF export has been extended with the PDF/A-1a standard to make revision-secure archiving possible. List & Label 15 supports the new GS1 barcodes, which will be in use as a new standard worldwide from 2010. Their advantages are increased data density and better scanability.

Starting with version 15, customers with an Enterprise Edition receive a special gift from combit: This edition comes including all available Designer language kits. Enterprise developers can now make use of a free pool of many languages, which so far had to be purchased separately.

The Standard Edition of List & Label 15 is available from EURO 610 / US-$860, Subscription Editions Professional from EURO 1160 / US-$1635 and Enterprise from EURO 1760 / US-$2482 net (exchange rate from 10/05/2009). Subscription editions include up-grades to major versions, ServicePacks, feature updates and support during the validity of subscription.
