Models Direct: Top Five ‘Can’t Live Without’ Beauty Products

Which beauty products do you feel you just could not live without?
This question was put to the girls in the Models Direct office, and here are our top five choices, starting with the legendary star of beauty products – Vaseline

STAR PRODUCT: Vaseline Rosy Lips – Lip Balm Gloss.

This yummy scented balm is enriched with rose and almond oil and has a multitude of uses:

•   As a lip balm this variety of Vaseline will give you soft, kissable, rose-scented lips.
•   It works well as a hand moisturiser or on dehydrated elbows or knees.
•   Spread a thin layer over dry or cracked feet at bedtime and cover with a pair of socks, it’s like your very own home paraffin treatment!
•   Use as a cuticle softener.
•   Tidy and tame your eyebrows with a discreet slick of it.
•   When dyeing your hair use Vaseline along the hairline and ears to prevent dye from discolouring your skin.
•   Use original/unscented Vaseline as a very effective and gentle eye-make up remover.

Best for highlighting/concealing: YSL Touché Éclat

Yves Saint Laurent launched this classic brush-tipped highlighter/concealer pen in 1992. These days one is sold somewhere in the world every 20 seconds, giving it a reputation as the beauty industry’s answer to the magic wand. The formula contains a luminocaptide complex that reflects light and softens flaws. Though many have tried to copy the product, according to fans in the Models Direct office, none have matched the original.


Best for smoky eyes: Boots No7 Amazing Eyes Pencil

Approx £7

This long-lasting eye pencil is soft and creamy and comes in a very effective black or a variety of other colours, such as blue-grey and olive (which has an alluring hint of gold). It’s easy to apply and has a fabulous ‘smudger’ end which enables the wearer to blend and soften to achieve the ‘smoky eyed’ look with ease!


Best for natural colour: CoverGirl Cheekers blush

Approx £10

This product has an abundance of great qualities. It’s natural looking, reliable, compact and affordable. ‘Cheekers’ is an award-winning blush from CoverGirl and it has been a big hit in the Models Direct office too!


Best for hydrating: Dr Lewinns LSC S8 Super Hydrator 30ml

Approx £30

This smooth, oil-free liquid gel promises to visibly reduce fine lines and wrinkles while hydrating and toning. It is also marketed as a product that increases absorption of other products. Models Direct Staff agree, it does exactly what it says on the tin!
