The standard for Environmental Management has been
achieved through the company’s dedication to eco-friendly manufacture and
distribution of its market leading lightweight furniture.
The company’s was first assessed in February 2009 by the national standards
body BSI, and was recognised as meeting the requirements of the standard by
May 2009. In the first six months it has reduced waste previously destined for
landfill by five tonnes through a meticulous recycling strategy.
It has also cut carbon emissions significantly through a new energy management
system, which includes intelligent technology that turns off heating if a door’s left
open.
The company has always ensured all levels of the business have a minimal
impact on the environment. The Environmental Management System certification
is physical evidence of this commitment.
For clients, it offers peace of mind that specifying Gopak products will have no
effect on their green credentials. It also means local authorities, that require
certification as standard, can see instantly that Gopak’s range of solutions
adhere to the highest standards.
ISO 14001:2004 is a benchmark that shows Gopak’s willingness to go further
than simply complying with environmental legislation.
With every aspect of the business assessed, the company can continue to push
the boundaries in the environmental conscious design, manufacture and supply
of its folding and stacking furniture solutions, including chairs, tables and staging.
