Carbon offsetting schemes are the hot investment over the next 10-20 years. Pressure is increasing on world leaders to regulate and reduce their carbon footprint, and there is an increasing ethical movement as people want to leave a world their kids will enjoy as much as they have. This will generate substantial growth in the value of carbon credits during this time, according to Property Frontiers, director Ray Withers said:

"We, as a company believe in moving with the times, but with carbon offsetting schemes we are moving with the times and the world. This is the way the world is going; we are all under pressure to reduce our carbon footprint, and buying carbon credits is the only way that some people can or will do that.

"Because of this and the fact that carbon credits are limited in numbers the value of said credits will constantly be driven upwards, constantly benefiting the pockets of those shrewd enough to invest in a carbon offsetting scheme."

Property Frontiers, previously known as a property investment consultancy, have diversified their range of investment products as the world has diversified, continuing to offer the highest yielding and safest investments from around the world.

The company now offers property in London where previously it was offering property abroad only, and a vast alternative investment portfolio including timber investment as well as the carbon offsetting schemes http://www.propertyfrontiers.com/International-Real-Estat....

In a carbon offsetting scheme, investors purchase a plot of land in a rainforest or protected area, which is worth a certain amount of carbon credits -- 150 for example. Each credit counters the output of one metric tonne of greenhouses gasses. The person, family or entity then (optionally) keeps the amount of credits they need to counter their consumption and sells the rest.

In the case of Property Frontiers the product is a SIPP approved strip of land in the Costa Rican rainforest. The minimum investment of $12,000 buys a strip worth 200 carbon credits. British families output 18 metric tonnes of greenhouse gasses per year on average, which would leave 182 carbon credits to sell each year.

In offering the carbon credit investment products Property Frontiers are entering very early into a growth sector. This is a bold move, but one that allows their clients to be the early bird. This benefits the investors because they are getting this product at a very low price, which will grow along with the value of carbon credits.
