The School of Public Health, University of Haifa, Haifa, Israel conducted a study of respiratory problems in children who live downwind from an industrial complex emitting greenhouse gasses, according to an article titled, “Asthma Symptoms in Children From Air Pollution, “ by Bernard P. Nelson. The subtitle: “Industrial Greenhouse Gas: Diseases of the Respiratory System.” The article was recently published by Suite 101 Magazine.
Air Pollution Statistics & Air Pollution Facts
The School of Public Health studied the medical records and tested children living within 20km of a industrial complex. According to the article the factors considered were distance from the facility, wind direction, parent questionnaire, child’s birth history and family health history. The study included air pollution statistics and facts relating to asthma and other diseases of the respiratory system.
Asthma Symptoms
550 children were tested, according to the article. The article outlines the results and conclusions of the asthma symptoms and respiratory study, and provides a link to the School of Public Health article.
Clean Air Act: EPA Proposes New Emission Requirements for Industry
