Jacksonville, FL. Wise Choice Properties is pleased to announce that they have donated two roofs to the Beaches Habitat for Humanity project at Haywood Estates off of Mayport Road in Atlantic Beach, FL. The roofs are for the properties at 2569 and 2570 Haywood Estates Lane.
The company was pleased to have an exceptionally good year in such a poor economy and wanted to give back to the community. Habitat for Humanity was the perfect choice because it fit in with the company's core mission of creating beautiful, but affordable housing, and in improving the communities they are in.
Habitat for Humanity provides homes for lower income families who would not otherwise be able to afford a home of their own. In return, the homeowner provides a certain level of “sweat equity” up front, and pays a small monthly mortgage after they move in.
“We were attracted to the Habitat model because it requires homeowner involvement and commitment,”
Beaches Habitat Development Director Mary Anne Christensen applauds Wise Choice Properties and says, “Beaches Habitat is extremely grateful for the generous donation from Wise Choice Properties. We deeply appreciate their support and commitment in Building Homes, Building Communities and Building Futures!”
About Beaches Habitat for Humanity
Beaches Habitat for Humanity has built nearly 200 homes in a community with a population less than 50,000. At the Beaches, the mission is to eliminate substandard housing by putting God's love into action by building quality affordable homes for qualified families in need through partnership with volunteers, community and future homeowners, and by providing training to guide families through homeownership, as well as educational opportunities to allow families to build brighter futures.
At Beaches Habitat for Humanity, the key initiatives are:
• To eliminate substandard housing in the Jacksonville Beaches by 2015
• To make education a priority for all our Habitat families
They are building a new community known as Haywood Estates. The development is located at the corner of Mayport Road and AIA North. Construction of these 32 new homes will be finished in the fall of 2010. Beaches Habitat is located at 1671 Francis Avenue in Atlantic Beach, Florida.
