Oct. 5, 2009 - PRLog -- “I am an artist” says Courtney Loceff, 32 of Port St. Lucie, FL.  “Years before I knew I wanted to turn this into a profession, I felt a need to sketch, paint, draw and just be creative on a daily basis”.   It is the existence of numerous sketchbooks that are filled with the daily product of her creative output, and the pitiful state of the economy, that gave Ms. Loceff the idea to launch her Sketchbook series at http://www.courtneyloceff.com/sketches.   The Sketchbook series allows collectors of colorful art the chance to own original, hand signed works at an affordable price.
Until the launch of the new series, Ms. Loceff offered both her original paintings on canvas, along with 11” x 17” prints of her most popular works for sale at art shows and on her online gallery.  She realized that there was a desire in the market for affordable original art, however, and thought of the piles of sketchbooks in her studio.  “My passion is to create large paintings on canvas, and although I like the creation of my art to happen in the moment, many of the themes that end up in my larger works originate in my colorful sketches”.  She realized that some of the most popular designs in her larger works appeared in many permutations in those sketchbooks, and decided to offer them for sale.  “I realize that it is more attractive to own a piece of original art as opposed to a print, but with this economy, affordable art is of the utmost importance” says Ms. Loceff  “With these sketches, I have the opportunity to provide enthusiasts to own a piece of bold colorful and original art at an affordable price.”
All of the offerings in the Sketchbook Series are in full color, created with either pastels or high quality art markers, and are on 60lb archival grade paper.  All the sketches are hand signed by the artist.  Ms. Loceff hopes that the Sketchbook Series will make original art affordable to many people that would ordinarily not get involved in the art market and will allow art lovers from across the spectrum to enjoy her work.
