Follow on Google News | Central Presentations support Bristol Festival 09Central Presentations were proud to support the Bristol Festival 09, and Lumacoustics by providing the hardware to create "the world's largest graffiti wall"
By: Kate Eve The project involved firing two projectors side by side to cover a massive 26mtr x 10mtr canvas across the Lloyd's headquarters building. The system primarily was driven by Lumacoustic's custom software YrWallTM which allows artists to create graffiti digitally using a modified spray can on a three metre wide screen, CPL (http://www.centralpresentations.co.uk) Both parties needed to account for the geometric distortions which came from the projection positions, as well as using softedge blending to create a seamless image despite the 3D warping. The effect was breathtaking. Visitors had an opportunity to paint on the building using the digital graffiti wall and there was an extra digital element on the night. During the painting Lumacoustics used their software to project a virtual helicopter flying around the side of the office building. As the 3D helicopter, modelled on an Avon and Somerset Police helicopter, flew it highlighted the works of art being painted. The system used cutting edge mapping techniques to make the helicopter look real. The custom software was developed in VVVV which is a software toolkit allowing visual programming. For three nights the harbourside was bathed in light, providing some of the most interesting, dynamic and interactive content ever seen Tom Hogan, 30, of Lumacoustics Limited said "It was breathtaking stuff as people were able to see these massive artworks take shape in front of their eyes”. # # # Central Presentations specialise in providing effective Audio Visual solutions to the Corporate, Live Events and Production Industries. http://www.centralpresentations.co.uk End
