BLACK GREEK FRATERNITY TAKES A STANCE AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SUFFOLK COUNTY, NEW YORK
WHAT: In recognition of “Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Chi Rho Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., will be hosting its 1st Annual “PURPLE FOOTSTEPS AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE WALKATHON” to bring awareness to the problem of Domestic Violence and support community prevention and victim services programs.

WHERE: Deer Park, New York at Executive Drive and Long Island Ave (Deer Park Train Station)
WHO: Chi Rho Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., located in Suffolk County New York. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., was established on the campus of Howard University on November 17, 1911, by three undergraduate students and their faculty advisor on the motto of “Friendship is essential to the Soul” and cardinal principles of manhood, scholarship, perserverance and uplift (http://www.oppf.org). WHY: In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and in lieu of recent studies which indicates domestic violence still remains in our society, with growing number among youths; we have organized to bring awareness to this problem and raise funding to support the Suffolk County Coalition Against Domestic Violence (www.sccadv.org)
