NEW YORK (September 29, 2009) – Cirtex Corp. announced today it will join the fight against cancer by donating a portion of its sales in October from its two hosting brands, CirtexHosting and HostV, to the Jimmy Fund. The Jimmy Fund supports cancer research and care at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
“In one way or another, cancer affects us all. At Cirtex Corp, we’ve seen the effects of cancer upend close, and it’s our moral obligation to stand up and do our part to help advance the important research that offers the hope of better treatment and higher survival rates,” said Cirtex Corp. president John Xie. “My hope is that we can encourage more individuals and businesses to join our efforts and begin to support causes like this. Sometimes we don’t realize how important medical research is until it’s too late.”
Each year, the Jimmy Fund hosts the Jimmy Fund Walk as part of the Boston Marathon. This year’s walk was held several weeks ago and nearly 800 walkers raised more than $325,000.
Cirtex Corp. is making its October donation to the 2009 Jimmy Fund Walk in the name of the walkers in this year’s event. Cirtex Corp. has supported a variety of charitable initiatives in the past, including the recovery efforts in the wake of the 2008 earthquake in China’s Sichuan province.
