Rio De Janiero was chosen to be the 2016 host city of the Summer Olympic Games, which means that the world's hopes of a new D.L. Shiloh short story featuring Lenny the Lobster have been put off. Readers were set to vote for the new story's title over at Shiloh's official web site, http://www.dlshiloh.com.
“It's unfortunate, but I'm happy for Rio,” Shiloh said. “But this may have set the fight for the Novel back a decade. We'll see. Everyone is stunned that the Windy City didn't make it. I feel a bit like Kanya West has grabbed the microphone.”
Shiloh had vowed to add to the Lenny the Lobster legend if Chicago, his former residence and the setting for “Pookoo”, a satire about celebrity and sports, was chosen.
“I'm sure there's a solution,” Shiloh added. “I think Duran Duran is going to make a lot of dough from the downloads of their 80's hit "Rio."
Speaking of downloads, the PDF of "Pookoo", the entire e-book that boasts Lenny the Lobster and also an Olympic javelin athlete, is for free at http://www.dlshiloh.com.
