Who would make such a ridiculous claim in such a horrendous Spanish property recession? Nick believes the facts speak for themselves and sales are taking place besides what some people might have you believe. “It is very clear to us that in the 3 main areas sales are taking place especially amongst buyers from Holland, Belgium and France who recognize fantastic value when they see it and they all share my view that we are at the bottom of the market and there has never been a better time to buy. These buyers are also very savvy and don’t expect there property to increase much in value in the next 18 months but realize they may have to pay more for the property that they require if they don’t buy now. As more and more of the excess stock is taken from the market choice at the prices people want to pay will drastically reduce and the people currently buying in good numbers realize this” explained Nick
So what property in Costa del Sol is selling? “Probably the most interesting market of the lot this week a Dutch lady spent over €500,000 on a luxurious Marbella penthouse and a Belgium client bought in Riviera del Sol from €150,000. The choice and the value in Costa del Sol is very hard to beat” explained Nick
As for Mallorca property there are still people who want to buy and are buying and whilst the price per square meter might not match the value of Costa Blanca property the buyers know there is no huge amount of excess stock and when the market recovers prices will probably rise in Mallorca before anywhere else according to Nick. “As for volume of sales well that is happening in Costa Blanca and whilst sales in September were down on August it is one of the few areas of Spain where you can buy something nice for
€100,000” explained Nick
