Austin, TX - Vista Solutions Group, in partnership with FACC (Florida Association of Court Clerks & Comptrollers)
The goals of the workshops were to aid counties throughout the state in meeting the requirements of Senate Bill 1718 and Administrative Order AOSC09-30 for statewide standards for electronic access to the courts; specifically, electronic filing of records and supporting documentation from lawyers and litigants to the clerks of court, and further transmission among parties to an action, other parties, and clerks. Melvin Cox, It Director for FACC, “The workshops are a fundamental component in ensuring the success of the statewide E-Portal solution implementation. As the project nears completion, Florida’s Clerks of Court are proud to have partnered with Vista Solutions Group to develop an electronic portal that integrates all of the key components as outlined by the Florida Courts Technology Commission and the Electronic Filing Committee.”
Features of the E-Portal include just some of these functionalities;
Giuseppe Ferrigno, Lead Developer, “The development of the Florida E-Portal is a demonstration of collaboration between FACC and Vista Solutions Group towards achieving a streamlined, scalable statewide electronic portal.” The Florida courts E-Portal accepts electronic filings from multiple sources, provides a statewide access point for electronic access and transmission of court records to and from the Florida courts using common data elements passing to and from each local case system. Additionally, an electronic court records solution provides for the creation, generation, sending, communication, receiving, and subsequent storage.
During the workshops, Melvin Cox and Giuseppe Ferrigno provided county officials with ePortal eFiling Demonstrations, eFiling eRecording Demonstrations, as well as provided staff with a roadmap for SB1718 eFiling Compliance.
The workshops entertained six locations throughout the state over the course of eight days including West Palm Beach, Orlando, Tampa, and many others. Giuseppe Ferrigno, “The workshops have been well received and the counties we have met with are eager to move forward towards a consolidated, streamlined electronic filing solution.”
