PRLog (Press Release) - Oct 02, 2009 -
The beginning of a new era in Kentucky brings fashion to the region.  The Bluegrass Fashion House (BGFH) is the first step to bringing fashion to Kentucky.  First organized as a thought by designer Soreyda Begley, Bluegrass Fashion House is now a collaboration of designers and volunteers who intend to see it bloom into something amazing.  "We have had so much cooperation in the community and as we have more events, we begin to see people willing to help in every way", says Soreyda Begley, the originator of the organization.  "We have initiated a support group in Lexington, called The Fashion Collaberative, which is now partnered with The Louisville Fashion Network.  Because of these support groups, we have been able to recruit a professional team of models, photographers, business advisers, hair stylists, makeup artists and even a DJ as a part of our team."

BGFH has become the face of three designers, Soreyda Begley of Lexington, Jordan Cox of Lexington and Sara Estes of Lexington.  Soreyda Begley is originally from Honduras and has lived in the United states for almost 10 years. At the age of 13 she entered a sewing academy were she learned the techniques for pattern making and garment construction. Soreyda has now been featured on New York and Atlanta runways as well as having been featured in full fashion magazine spreads.  Jordan Cox attended Northern Kentucky University studying fashion design, and working in the theater department as a costume designer.  Sara Estes studied fashion design at the International Academy of Design and Technology. Her collections have been featured in a number of local fashion shows that include Transylvania University’s Fair Trade show and The Future of Fashion show that was held in May of 2009.  These three designers have come together to form what is now The Bluegrass Fashion House.  To start off the Fall-Winter season, the Bluegrass Fashion House will be attending Virginia Fashion Week, along with other very well known US designers.  They have also booked shows in New York, New York and Chicago, Illinois.

The goal of BGFH is to make the fashion industry come to Kentucky.  "There are many talented designers, models, photographers and artists out there who are already volunteering their time and participating in the hopes of seeing our goal achieved.", says Soreyda Begley, "The Bluegrass Fashion House will be an outlet for the blossoming of portfolios and talent all over Kentucky.  Mainly, what we will do is give designers an opportunity to be seen and actually have their items produced by the Bluegrass Fashion House.  We have recently been blessed enough to have a local clothing factory, CC & J, agree to manufacture our designs and we are moving very quickly into the market. Each piece we produce will be designed by a Kentucky designer and although the label will say Bluegrass Fashion House, it will also give credit to the individual designer."

BGFH has chosen Paintsville Kentucky native, Shannen Reil, Miss Teen Kentucky-World, 2009, as the face of the Bluegrass Fashion House line of clothing for Spring 2010.  Shannen will represent BGFH, model for them and attend events on their behalf.  "She will be a part of what we do this entire year.", says Begley, "As the year progresses, we will continue to give opportunities to models as well as welcoming the 2010 Face of Fall at Miss Teen Kentucky-World, 2010.  The young lady that is crowned Miss Teen Kentucky-World, 2010 will become the face of the Bluegrass Fashion House 2010 Fall line."

As The Bluegrass Fashion House continues efforts to grow and quickly mold into what the Lexington and Kentucky community has shown much interest in, you can follow the progress of BGFH, by going to www.bluegrassfashionhouse.com and to www.teenkentucky.com.
