Version 5.0 enables Hirschmann RSR and MACH100 switch customers to connect multiple rings to a primary ring, permitting a higher availability of networks by forming so-called ‘sub-rings.’
In addition, Hirschmann Version 5.0 software accelerates boot-up times, it optimizes the HIPER-Ring and RSTP protocols, and it allows various protocols to be combined. Moreover, in combination with Hirschmann’s new MICE PTP modules, Version 5.0 supports the new technology of the Precision Time Protocol Version 2.
