Greenville, SC - A college graduate is hoping to make money using his car to sell advertising space. His goal is to sell every square inch until stickers completely cover his car.
Brandon Stephens, from Greenville, South Carolina, set up covermycar.org after graduating and finding it difficult to pay his student loans and mounting bills. Brandon says that, “I was grateful to find a job that paid over minimum wage with today’s shaky economy, however the debt man’s still calling my name.”
Although anyone can buy space, Brandon believes it will mostly appeal to businesses. “Nowadays with companies turning to guerrilla marketing techniques, I believe CoverMyCar is a fun and effective marketing strategy that will stand out from typical television, radio and print ads.”
“When companies buy advertising space, a link to their website will be featured on covermycar.org as well as MySpace, Twitter and Facebook,” Brandon says. “They will also be featured on the daily blog and viral sites such as Youtube, Flick, Revver and Metacafe.”
He guarantees that each sticker will be on his car for at least one year and 15,000 miles. When all of the space is sold Brandon is making a cross-country trip to the west coast and documenting it through his website and viral videos.
Asked what he will do with the money he makes, Brandon, who majored in Film Production at the University of South Carolina, says that after the bills are paid, all the money will go into a film project that he is working on.
