FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Oct 01, 2009 – New Hill, NC  -- Terri Morrach of New Hill, NC sells humor as medicine, hope, and awareness to the community in an effort to help victims of mental illness and their families cope. "Our goal is to help raise public awareness of the facts about mental illness”, says Terri.  "This is imperative. With few exceptions, sufferers of mental illness are intelligent (often brilliant), creative, talented, and extremely lovable individuals. Medical treatment such as cognitive therapy, talk therapy and prescription medications are only part of the cure. The most important aspect of recovery is that a patient has loving support from friends, family, and the community".

Ms. Morrach began creating humorous t-shirts as a way of coping with her own diagnosis of major depressive disorder. "Friends, even strangers just loved them and they made me laugh. They actually helped me to recover. Now, I want to help others do the same and help to bring them the same opportunities I had. Before the disorder, I had always been an outgoing and zealous individual and then my illness just came out of nowhere. You just never know".

One in four adults will suffer with a mental health disorder in a given year. Most likely, if you do not suffer from a mental illness, you know someone who does. "The community needs to understand that mental illness is a treatable and even curable disease.

A portion of the proceeds from the sales at Looney Ben, LLC is donated to various mental health services to aid research in the causes of mental illness, and provide treatment options, and medications to those in need. One such facility that Looney Ben, LLC is extremely interested in is the Chatham Cares Community Pharmacy located in Siler City, NC. "It is the sale of our t-shirts and other products that makes it possible to support our community and make a real difference in people's lives".

Ms. Morrach also supports the "Walk for Hope Foundation" headed by Van Eure of the Angus Barn in Raleigh, NC. The annual "Walk for Hope" donates funds to research and mental health facilities such as Dorothea Dix Hospital, the University of North Carolina and its affiliated psychiatric institutions, and local mental health agencies. Terri is a team captain this year for the "Walk for Hope" team "Esperanza". "I would like to invite everyone interested in this cause to come join my team. It will be a great time".  The “Walk for Hope” takes place Sunday, October 11, 2009.

To contact Terri Morrach or to learn more information, visit http://www.LooneyBen.com or visit her at the 1st Sunday event held each month in Pittsboro, NC.
