ZimPay, Zimbabwe Payment Gateway

PR Log (Press Release) – Oct 01, 2009 – The payment gateway solution is ZimPay’s flagship product which enables merchants to authorize, settle and manage credit card and debit card transactions from a website, wide area network or Mail Order/Telephone Order (MOTO) manual credit card payments. Payment Gateway products are expected to generate 85% of ZimPay’s total revenue.

PAYMENT GATEWAY
Merchants have three gateway schemes to choose from;

1. ZimPay Simple Payments
A non contractual service linked to a ZimPay issued Internet Merchant Account. Making use of the ZimPay Simple Payments service will allow a merchant’s website to accept credit cards payments online as well as from bank debit card accounts without having a Bank issued Merchant Account. This scheme also comes with free Simple Cart which enable online merchants to sell their products online (on ZimPay or on their own website) immediately after creating an account on ZimPay. No installation, programming or software is required for this service. A customer simply logs on to ZimPay through its Merchant Interface using their username and password and they can manually add products to the simple cart. If they already have their own website, ZimPay provides an automatically generated piece of HTML code which they can cut and paste into their own website as “Buy now” buttons. When a customer clicks the “Buy now”, they then get transferred to ZimPay to complete the payment process. The authorization happens immediately, allowing for real
time online credit card payments to be processed.

2. Virtual Terminal
Virtual Terminal enables the merchant to seamlessly direct online credit card transactions to ZimPay’s payment webpage.  Their logo and details can be presented on that page so that the customer does not feel as if he/she is leaving the merchant’s website. Virtual Terminal can be set up with no additional programming required.  SSL encryption is utilized on ZimPay’s payment webpage insuring that security risks are eliminated.    

3. ZimPay Premium
The premium scheme offers complete control to the merchant because it can be fully imbedded into an existing website's payment page. ZimPay Premium can be customized to suit the merchant’s payment processing needs. Transactions are secured with their own SSL, and our payment gateway for authenticating credit card transactions.

MONEY TRANSFER
ZimPay registered members are able to send money to anyone with an email address. In their account area, registered members can do the following:
•   Upload funds to their account using bank transfer, PayPal or money bookers or 2checkout
•   Send money to anyone with an email address
•   Request payment from anyone with an email address
•   Withdraw money to their bank account
•   Add bank accounts, credit cards, email addresses and much more....

PAYMENT CARDS
ZimPay distributes pre-paid VISA and MasterCard.  These cards can be used to withdraw cash at any ATM  or at Point of Sale  devices throughout Africa and the rest of the word. The prepaid cash card is the most convenient ay to transfer money to friends and family in remote areas or abroad as cash can be accessed immediately after being uploaded onto
the card.

The prepaid cards can be used for two purposes
1.   Payroll cards are ideal for employers with workers who do not have normal  bank accounts.
2.   Travel cards are ideal for travellers to South Africa and Zimbabwe for holiday or shopping.

A cardholder can have up to 4 additional cards which can be given to family and friends. Using one controlling card, a cardholder can upload different.
Getting a prepaid card is simple as there is no credit check or rigorous requirements. One only needs a government issued ID and a residential address.
