Catholic History of New York City Revealed

New book showcases early history of the city’s Catholic population
 
Oct. 1, 2009 - PRLog -- With the influx of Irish, German, Italian, Polish and other European immigrants in the late 1800s, New York City has one of the largest Catholic populations in the world.

In a new book by Arcadia Publishing, local author Richard Panchyk uses over 200 vintage photographs to celebrate the religious and culture life of New York City’s Catholic personalities, places and events.

Panchyk hopes the book will “preserve the history of Catholic New York City as well as inspire future generations to remember and preserve their colorful Catholic heritage.”
