Save Lives Save Dollars (SLSD), a GDAHC health care initiative seeking quality improvement and cost reductions in southeastern Michigan, was in need of an improved and centralized communication portal for member use. Wowza custom designed a fresh and easy-to-use central Web platform with a variety of tools and resources encouraging cooperation and collaboration throughout the member organization. SLSD members include purchasers/employers, health systems/plans, physicians and other community participants.
“Our work with the Greater Detroit Area Health Coalition illustrates our keen ability to meet consumer needs by engaging them in a friendly and accessible way,” said Jeff Rabkin, president and owner, Wowza. “We really value our role in reforming healthcare quality through involvement with consumer engagement marketing campaigns like Detroit’s Save Lives Save Dollars member site.”
Wowza implemented a beta portal to the member site, allowing members to upload and download documents thereby improving document management and communication. In addition, members are able to access and share important files such as meeting materials, team documents/reports and relevant articles. The online discussion forum encourages members to easily share input, provide SLSD staff with feedback, and post updates and announcements.
“Members are now able to communicate on a completely different level in a more effective fashion,” Rabkin said. “It’s a great opportunity for members to further collaborate their ideas and opinions for improving the healthcare industry and the community at large.”
Site improvements have also helped reduce staff time, run more productive and efficient meetings and reduce member email exchanges. Furthermore, the site’s online functionality, which does not require any software, allows staff to easily update the site with news and announcements.
Since 2007, Wowza has worked in the healthcare quality data industry, combining creative and strategic expertise in branding, consumer-centered Web sites, web usability and word of mouth marketing to help seven health care quality organizations engage and inspire consumers including – Minnesota Community Measurement, CAHPS III Reports Team, Healthy Memphis Common Table and Puget Sound Health Alliance.
