Village Bakery and Cafe
The Village Bakery and Café has been serving the Chestertown community as well as visitors passing through for seven years and they have been in the current location on Washington Avenue for two years. In celebration of their two-year mark in the café facility, owners Ruth and Bethany Stoltzfus will be holding an Open House Friday, October 9 throughout the day.
The Open House will feature a variety of samples from the Village Bakery and Café menu such as their signature breads, cakes, pies, and beverage samples. Wine tastings provided by Republic National, the wine vendor for the café, will begin at 5 p.m. and guests staying for dinner will have the opportunity to enjoy dishes from a special dinner menu created just for the Open House. Customers can also enjoy live music which will be played by local artists Kate and Blake Thompson from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Menu items at the Village Bakery and Café are made fresh every day and Ruth and Beth take pride in using the best quality local ingredients, providing superior service to all customers, and giving a keen attention to detail in every menu item. Ruth and Beth extend a warm welcome to all their regular customers as well as to those who have not yet had a chance to experience the homemade cuisine of the Village Bakery and Café and the Open House is an ideal opportunity to enjoy good food and wine in a friendly atmosphere.
In addition to having seven years of experience in owning and operating the Village Bakery and Café, Ruth has a lifetime of passion for cooking and baking and she and Beth have expanded their offerings with a new Village Bakery location on Kent Island in order to offer their homemade baked goods and cakes to a wider range of Eastern Shore customers.
The Village Bakery and Café in Chestertown is open six days a week from 6:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; 6:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday; and, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sundays.
