Donna Friedman Meir, Kids Entertainment Executive, Joins KIDO'Z - Web Operating System for Kids

PR Log (Press Release) – Oct 01, 2009 – Donna Friedman Meir, former National Geographic Kids Entertainment (NGKE) President and Founder, joins KIDO'Z, the Web Operating Environment for kids, in the role of Chief of Content and Strategy.

Friedman Meir, who is today a leading industry consultant, specializes in creating and building entertainment experiences for kids and families across multiple media. She will be working closely with KIDO'Z to ensure that it becomes the leading content platform for kids on the web.  Her expertise will add tremendous value in shaping the content and overall creative strategy for this global platform, which is powered by parents and managed by industry experts.

KIDO'Z will be launching its latest version (v2.0) this month, which extends the KIDO'Z environment and includes unique social tools, such as a 'kid-friendly' email system and social network. Premium packages will also become available with the new version, which will give users the opportunity to access specialized web content for kids and will provide content publishers with opportunities to benefit from the platform.

With decades of experience in the kid's media industry behind her, Friedman Meir is at the forefront of the industry and brings with her expertise in the creative and strategic development of educational and entertaining content for kids.

As President of NGKE, Friedman Meir successfully grew the division from conception to international recognition.  During this time, Donna and her team produced and/or distributed four critically acclaimed TV series and one special which have received numerous accolades, including multiple Emmy nominations, as well as Gemini, Parents Choice and Action for Children’s Television Awards.

Prior to NGKE, Friedman Meir was Executive Vice-President of Programming at Kids' WB! (The WB Television Network), where she led the network to outstanding growth and also held senior posts at Nickelodeon where she made significant contributions to many facets of the organization, including directing Nickelodeon's first efforts in multi-media publishing, and launching and growing the company's first tri-lingual network in Latin America.

Friedman Meir is a Harvard University Magna Cum Laude Graduate and in 2002 she was named one of top 25 most powerful women in television by Electronic Media. She currently lives in New Jersey with her two kids, Alyla and Joss, who are founding (and passionate!) members of the KIDO’Z community.
