Gelateria Tavolini, downtown St. Louis's local coffee and gelato shoppe, has partnered with Chad's Chai & Tea Company to host two Chai Party events on Friday October 9th and Saturday October 10th.
On Friday beginning at 7 PM, guests will be treated to live music and free samples of chai and other tea drinks.
Beginning Saturday at 2 PM, Chad Morris of Chad's Chai & Tea Co. will host a series of workshops designed to introduce participants to the world of tea: its history, the various types of tea, and finally a specific focus on Chai. These three workshops will run until roughly 5 PM.
Beginning at 7:30 PM, the Chai Party begins again, with two more hours of free chai and tea tastings.
Jonathan Andrus, owner of Gelateria Tavolini, and Chad Morris were roomates living in South Carolina shortly after Jonathan graduated from college. The two men began a tradition of making their own chai and inviting all of their friends over for a relaxed evening of fun and relaxation, calling it a "Chai Party". What began as an idle curiosity about how to make chai became a passion for Chad, who began experimenting with different recipes and testing them out on household members and friends. In 2007, Chad formally launched his business, Chad's Chai & Tea Co. with a line of 8 teas. Based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Chad's reputation has grown locally and his products can now be found in many coffee shops in the North Carolina and Virginia regions.
On April 1st of this year, Jonathan and his wife Amanda became the new owners of a coffee and gelato shoppe in downtown St. Louis, previously named "The Gelateria". While being committed to keeping many of the Gelateria's good things unchanged, Jonathan and Amanda quickly seized the opportunity to bring Chad's Chai to St., Louis.
Chad, Jonathan, and Amanda are very excited to open the doors of Gelateria Tavolini to any and all who are interested in learning more about tea, trying a new variant of Chai Latte, or who just want to be part of the fun.
