Sona Trading Announces William Sullivan to Join Firm As Market Strategist

Sept. 30, 2009 - PRLog -- Sullivan brings 20 years of commodity experience to Sona. He started his commodity career as a floor clerk for Rosenthal Collins Group in 1989 and quickly moved to phone clerk and broker assistant.  In 1990 Sullivan became a member of the Mid-America Exchange where he acted as floor broker and traded for his own account.  In 1990 he moved to the Chicago Mercantile exchange where he was an independent broker and trader in the Deutch Mark Pit.  In 1997 Sullivan moved to the Chicago Board of Trade where he traded in the grain & Dow pits.

It was during Sullivan’s trading at the Board of Trade that he started to trade many markets outside of the Chicago markets and have interest in off floor trading techniques.
After Sullivan left the floor in 2004 he has been trading proprietary accounts and researching and developing different proprietary trading strategies.

In 2006 Sullivan found the White Oak Fund, which is a private placement fund for qualified investors looking for asset class diversification into commodities.

In 2007 Sullivan founded Continental Trading Strategies.  The company develops trading software for retail customers with smaller sized accounts.

At Sona Trading, Sullivan hopes to bring access to managed futures to a much wider audience.  Sullivan recently stated,” it is my sincere belief that Managed Futures, as an asset class, is under utilized.  Investors would be wise to consider using managed futures as part of their overall financial strategy. Regulations and transparency makes participation much more uncomplicated for today’s investor.  We have found that after the drastic stock market decline of October 2008 many new investors are seeking out and participating in private and public commodity funds.”
