The fire detection system from BiKal consists of a software / computer platform that performs video analytics, a process of analysing video data for pre-defined rules, in this case the detection of smoke & fire patterns. Video can be captured from most existing or modern network CCTV cameras offering seamless compatibility & integration with new or old surveillance systems. When the possibility of fire is detected, an alarm is generated producing live video of the event in a pop-up window with options to notify other emergency staff via e-mail & SMS.

The system can also be supplied with its own high definition camera and be deployed in indoor, outdoor & rugged locations. The system can utilise renewable energy for power & make use of wireless communications offering a complete standalone wireless unit.

The smoke & fire detection system is particularly useful in dealing with modern day problems & environments having the potential to serve as an early warning system for forest fires to detecting hazardous events at industrial sites from oil rigs to gas platforms.
