Kentucky’s own Jon Carloftis, “Garden Designer to The Stars,” along with Lisa Mullins, co-owner of Louisville Stoneware, will join Mike Stutland of Artique in Lexington Green on October 17th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm to celebrate Artique’s new partnership with Louisville Stoneware.
Artique will be a Lexington purveyor for Louisville Stoneware, which has created a wide variety of pottery since 1815, and this year has partnered with Jon Carloftis to create a line of one-of-a-kind handcrafted birdhouses and feeders.
This Jon Carloftis Collection includes the Wren House/Pink Birdhouse, a special edition designed to raise money for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a global movement to eradicate breast cancer. Louisville Stoneware will donate 10 % of the retail sales price from each Wren House/Pink Birdhouse sold to the movement, and has since April 1st.

In addition to being America’s most famous garden designer, with his gardens featured in publications like Architectural Digest, and himself featured on HGTV and shows like Martha Stewart, Jon Carloftis is the author of two books, First A Garden and Beyond The Windowsill, which Mr. Carloftis will be happy to personally sign during his appearance at Artique.
Of particular interest to Lexingtonians, Jon Carloftis is also the Official Gardener to the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, which the Bluegrass area will host next September and October.
