Cannock, UK author Steve Harman is set to crisp the literary world with the release of his first novel. Entitled 2 Slice Toaster and conceived two years earlier, it was the novel that probably would never be written.
Work and family commitments had meant that it was often shelved. Until that is, a spell of unemployment and a desire not to mope around the house, set the wheels in motion and Mr Harman in the right direction.
Mr Harman says: “I had the first two chapters sat on my hard drive for two years. When I discovered them one day during my unemployment, I thought it would stop any depression caused by my situation, if I tried to finish the book. I announced this to my wife Lesley, who thought that it would be a good idea and she gave me all the support I needed”.
Although it carries the title 2 Slice Toaster it’s not even remotely connected to kitchen appliances as Mr Harman explains: “I was searching for a working title, looked around and spotted the toaster. The rest is history”.
2 Slice Toaster is a surprisingly polished and very amusing piece of work published through lulu.com; the book is available at steveharman.co.uk
