Nashville, TN.— Participants of the Germantown Street Festival, presented this year in conjunction with the annual October Fest, are invited to bring out their dogs and enjoy the festival! With Halloween just around the corner, it’s “Dress Up Time” for festival goers who want to bring their dogs. That’s right! At 12:30pm on Saturday, October 10th, the 2nd Annual Germantown Street Festival is hosting the First Annual PUP PARADE!! And it’s Doggone Fun!
The 1st Annual Pup Parade will award prizes for the following areas: Best German Inspired Costume; Best German Inspired Dog and Escort Costume and the Congeniality Award. Prize packages will be 7 nights or 10 days of care at Red Rover Pet Services; dinner for 2 at the Mat Platter and a festival T-shirt complimentary of Paulaner Bier.
Pup Parade rules are simple:
•Dogs must be registered 30 minutes prior to parade at Monroe St. Information Booth
• All dogs must be escorted on leash (No longer than 6 ft.)
• Only one dog per escort
•Escort is responsible for any “street gift” left behind
• Respect for each dog’s “space”
• Rabies and Vaccinations must be current (Owner and Dog)
• No Dogs “In Season”
•Costumes must be safe and comfortable
• Dogs and escorts not on their best behavior may not participate
• Winners will be based on creativity, originality, and humor
Festivities of the Germantown Street Festival will kick off at 8 AM with the annual Paulaner Bier 5K Run, produced in partnership with the Nashville Striders. Highlights of the day will include multiple music stages, a designated area for children and youth-centered arts activities from the highly acclaimed Renaissance Center in Dickson. Young festival-goers will also able to enjoy pony rides and inter-active games. Many artists call Germantown home and have been instrumental in its emergence as a creative community. Their work, along with that of other talented craft and visual artists, will line the festival site.
