Could an Olympic spot coax a new Lenny the Lobster story from D.L. Shiloh - and more? Yes, if Chicago wins the 2016 Olympic spot October 2, 2009.
The United States is in competition for a 2016 host city Olympic bid. If Chicago wins the host city spot, author D.L. Shiloh says Lenny the Lobster will emerge from mascot exile.
"If so, I will write a special free download short story to celebrate the news," Shiloh said. "Also, Lenny may make an appearance for the first time on the Internet with a few tricks up his sleeves. The world could use some chuckles right about now."
"Pookoo", Shiloh's satire about "Celebrity, Chicago and 6-foot lobsters" tells the rise and fall and rise of an Olympic medalist, Katlin Hillmacher. The book is available in paperback or Kindle at Amazon.com, and for free PDF download from http://www.pookoo.net or http://www.dlshiloh.com.
"On one hand, it's a downbeat tale with these two icons, a sports star and a restaurant mascot. And it would mean a lot if the Windy City won. I lived and worked there and think it's a great place to host the Games."
"If Chicago earns the bid, everyone will be excited for Chicago," Shiloh added. "Well, except those in Madrid, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro."
