The GFWC Viera Woman’s Club Annual Charity Golf Tournament, Swing for Charity, will be held for the third consecutive year in 2009. “This year’s tournament will once again benefit domestic and child-abuse programs which are provided by the Salvation Army Domestic Violence Shelter in Cocoa, Cocoa Group Home, The Haven III and Hacienda Girls’ Ranch,” said C. Lee Thompson, GFWC Viera Woman’s Club President.
“Last year’s successful event was held at Viera East. This year the GFWC Viera Woman’s Club selected Baytree National Golf Links, 8207 National Drive, Melbourne, Florida to host the Swing for Charity on October 31, 2009. We look forward to next year’s event at one of our beautiful courses,” Tournament Chair Rhonda Breault said. The shotgun scramble will start at 8am and contests such as putting beginning at 7am.
