E-T-A Introduces 1620 MINI Circuit Breaker for the Transportation Industry

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 1, 2009 - Mt. Prospect, IL - E-T-A Circuit Breakers is pleased to announce the 1620 MINI CBE - the latest addition to its thermal automotive product line.  Designed for use with the mini-sized terminal blocks, the 1620 is the first circuit protection device in the market to meet all the requirements of the four SAE J553 type classes (I, II, III, and III*) in the miniature package.

The products housings are color-coded consistently with industry standard current ratings of blade fuses.  The 1620 is interchangeable with blade type fuses – Providing retrofit capability, eliminating the need for spare fuses, saving space and reducing vehicle downtime.

Specifications & Approvals:
The 1620 is available in current ratings from 5… 30 A with a voltage rating of 12 VDC or 24 VDC depending on the product type.  Keeping in line with SAE J553, the following product classes and can be selected based on specific applications: Type I (automatic reset), Type II (modified reset), Type III (reset button), and Type III* (with trip free mechanism or manual release button).  With a size of only 13.3 mm the 1620 can reduce space requirements in fuse boxes up to 30%.

Applications:
The 1620 is intended for the protection of 12 V or 24 V on-board electrical systems in passenger cars, trucks, buses, watercraft and extra low voltage wiring systems.

Availability:
