The Freedom Walk event, which started in the aftermath of the attacks of Sept. 11, shows appreciation for veterans past and present. Additionally, it remembers those who lost their lives in the attacks and raises awareness for Operation Homefront, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that provides free services to military families and wounded warriors nationwide. Freedom Walks have developed into a tradition that brings Americans together to commemorate Sept. 11 and the service of our military.
