Winston-Salem, NC, September 14, 2009:   Andrew McMillan along with Chef Don McMillan, CEC, AAC recently brought back a culinary institute - The Stocked Pot & Co. Cooking School.  Located at 381 Jonestown Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104, the company operates a cooking school, ready made meals division, merchandise shop and catering company.  Chef Don ran the company for 24 years before selling it several years ago to focus on the catering division - Catering by Simple Elegance.  The Stocked Pot Cooking School originally located at Reynolda Village hosted culinary talents such as John Folse, Jacques Pepin, Julia Child, Guliano Hazan, Jude Theriot, and more. The cooking fun continues with great classes and meals.

Chef Don McMillan is a culinary legend who has been featured internationally on shows such as Southern Outdoors on Fox Sports South, Celebrate! Christmas with Maya Angelou on the Hallmark Channel, Rick & Bubba Show on Tuner South, Home Plate on Turner South, ABC News Southern Cooking and Iconoclast with Dave Chappelle & Maya Angelou.  Chef Don McMillan also helped recreate recipes with Maya Angelou for her cookbook "Hallelujah! The Welcome Table: A Lifetime of Memories with Recipes".  Chef Don has also won various awards for his entrepreneurial efforts.

Chef McMillan is internationally known for his training and cooking classes.  With a state of the art classroom, students can watch a 50-inch split screen television and can see what the instructor is doing step by step.  Classes typically hold up to 30 people and are offered weekday evenings and weekend days at varying degrees of skill level.  Chef Don and his, talented staff of chefs instructors will entertain and enlighten each guest with culinary tales (most true) and wonderful meals.

Upcoming sessions include: Paying homage to the movie “Julie and Julia” on Thursday, October 1st,  WHAT WOULD JULIA DO?? FRENCH CLASSICS.  On Wednesday, October 7th, they will feature a very unique class on Gastropub Cooking.   Other classes include: EGG-CETERA COOK PERFECT EGG DISHES , JR. CHEFS PIES, COBBLERS & TARTS and one of their most popular classes, German Comfort Foods
