Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm (www.GAOComm.com) has launched its full-featured digital transmission system test device – E1/Datacom tester featuring a handheld design, smart navigation mode display and high resolution backlight LCD. This datacom tester is designed for the installation, testing, acceptance and daily maintenance of digital networks and is able to perform channel tests, alarm analysis, fault location and signal analysis. In addition, this tester provides various protocol converters with one-way and bi-directional bit-error-rate (BER) test functions. These capabilities make it ideal for field use.
This portable E1/datacom tester, model 5854, offers a number of practical functions such as frame data control and monitoring, time slot activity monitoring, handshaking signal control and monitoring, APS delay measurements and frequency measurements. Equipped with built-in NiMH rechargeable batteries and a smart charger circuit, the multifunctional tester can work continuously for up to six hours on a single charge and is charged with an automobile battery adapter. It saves and recalls up to 10 user-defined setups and 10 sets of results. Its software is easily upgraded via an integrated RS232C interface. Test results can be uploaded, conserved and printed using Test Manager Software.
