Niko Niko’s, the popular Greek and American Café on Montrose, in Houston, will be featured on the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”
The hit show, which celebrates the great food and fun personalities behind some of America’s most original, family-run, roadside restaurants, will showcase Niko Niko’s on Monday, October 5, at 9 pm. Owner Dimitri Fetokakis was thrilled when the show’s host, Guy Fieri, contacted him about showcasing the popular Houston restaurant.
“Our place always seemed like a good fit for the show,” Fetokakis said. “We welcomed them with open arms.” And once the Food Network’s crew arrived, the good fit was apparent. “The filming was great fun,” Fetokakis noted. “Guy was terrific with our customers, signing autographs and posing for pictures.”
From the restaurant’s extensive menu, Guy chose to feature the oven roasted Lamb Shanks, the Souzoukakia - Greek meatballs baked in tomato sauce and topped with feta, the OPA Chicken, which is stuffed with rice, onion, garlic and walnuts, and Loukomades for dessert – the Greek honey balls.
To celebrate, Niko Niko’s is throwing an open “Viewing Party” which begins at 8 pm on Monday, October 5th. There will be complimentary finger foods and drink specials, plus a Guy Fieri look-a-like contest! Prizes include Rockets tickets and $200 gift card.
