Sept. 26, 2009 - PRLog -- Entreprenology was first conceptualized more than a quarter of a century ago.  In the early 1960's. Dr. James R. Omps, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of IUE, then a Professor at California State University-Los Angeles, was hired by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the University of Southern California (USC) to establish the College of Business at the University of Karachi in Karachi, Pakistan - a task that was successfully accomplished..

Upon completion of that project, Dr. Omps was hired by the Ford Foundation to use his business and academic expertise to assist in developing and monitoring entrepreneur development programs at the Small Industries Extension Training Institute (SIET Institute), a Ford Foundation grant recipient located in Hyderabad, India. Still in existence today, this organization is now known as the National Institute for Small Industries Extension Training (NISIET).

It was during his tenure with Ford that Dr. Omps began his groundbreaking work in the field of enterprise creation and growth management. It is interesting to note that Dr. Omps was on post when renowned Harvard psychology professor Dr. David C. McClelland came to India to field test his hypothesis on entrepreneurship development. As virtual colleagues, the two men worked in the same basic area - entrepreneur development.  Each, however, came to different conclusions.

IUE offers appropriate and relevant real-world degree programs that put the resources you choose to invest in an undergraduate or advanced degree to the best possible use.
The US University has been dedicated to meeting the educational and career development needs of top level professionals for more than 30 years.  IUE’s innovative programs coupled with it’s hands-on, team oriented approach to the teaching/learning process makes earning a degree easier and more enjoyable than in many other similar  Universities. The programs are learning intensive and, although they will challenge and demand  best effort of teh students, the return on time and effort invested is exceptionally rewarding both personally and professionally.

IUE’s  programs are structured to take advantage of the fact that working professionals possess significant practical knowledge.   That is one of the reasons IUE emphasizes active participation over traditional passive lecture because participation provides the opportunity for an exchange of ideas, concepts, knowledge and experiences among those in the program.

IUE’s instructors hold advanced degrees and, of greater importance, each is a highly experienced professional in his or her respective field.  This makes it possible for IUE’s faculty to effectively facilitate the process of taking applicable knowledge and information directly from theory to real-world application.

A number of programs offer some business oriented topics simply because every career field touches business in some way.  It is, therefore, good to have a basic understanding of what we call the Language of Business.  As with any foreign language, the only way to understand what you are seeing or hearing is to have a basic understanding of the language.

All programs are continuously being updated and new courses added on a regular basis.  The only way to deal effectively with change (changing needs, changing issues, changing requirements, etc.) is to embrace it by adding information and courses that will appropriately address the needs of the career entrepreneur, intrapreneur, and entreprenologist today, tomorrow and on into the future.

Undergraduate Programs:

Excellence in education is critically dependent on the interaction of faculty members and program participants. The values that characterize these interactions include dedication to excellence, mutual respect, honesty, and integrity.

 Higher Diploma in Business Administration (AA)

 Advanced Diploma in Business Administration (BBA)

This 18 month full-time course requires the completion of 12 subjects and a project.  Credit Transfer is equivalent to a BBA program. The Course fosters critical thinking, decision making and complex risk analysis. A significant component enhancing the concept and practice of entrepreneurship development and small and medium sized enterprise (SME’s) operation has also been incorporated.

Graduate Programs:

Virtually every sector of the every economy has been shaken by revolutionary changes in the ways firms are doing business today. The need for effective management has moved from “that would be nice to have” to “we must have it.”  Effectively managing operations enables firms to gain a competitive advantage by driving leadership, quality, flexible response to customer needs, and getting products and services to market quickly.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The school prepares men and women to become leaders at every level of management. Today’s successful businesses demand flexibility, innovation, creativity, teamwork, and leadership. The school’s goal is to help graduates meet those demands through a careful grounding in all functional areas of business and the honing of analytical and interpersonal skills required to address real business problems.

MBA Program for Professionals and Managers

The MBA Program for professionals and managers allows fully employed individuals to pursue an MBA degree while continuing their career development.  The curriculum, offered primarily in the evening, is the same curriculum offered to other MBA candidates but is modified to allow completion on a time table determined by the candidate.

Doctoral Programs

All doctoral programs key on international business.  The IUE’s philosophy is that international business is an applied area in which any course related research should be firmly based on a functional discipline. The advantage of International Business is that it offers participants a rich variety of important and interesting questions with practical relevancy.  It is therefore the IUE’s mission that faculty and graduates make fundamental contributions to Entreprenology - the functional discipline of International Business, decision-makers, and business practitioners.

In an International Conference on the foundation of WUSME World Union of Small and
Medium Enterprises from 8. – 10.11.2009 in the Republic of San Marino, IUE will
be presented to SMEs supporting organizations from five continents and invited to
closely co-operate with IUE, primarily in developing Countries focusing on young
entrepreneurs and women planning to establish their own small business in these countries.
