Susan drives her son to the bus stop, even though the bus stops at the corner, she does it because she is a good parent.
Like many parents, Susan does her best with the time she has to "Be There" for her family.
She never really thinks about what happened to the other boys in the next town.
She never really thinks it could happen to her son.
These thoughts were kept buried in her mind as she busied herself with bookbags and schedules for her son....
In 1926, Saskatchewan-
Clark claimed that Northcott had kidnapped, molested, beaten, and killed several young boys with the apparent help of Northcott's mother, Sarah Louise Northcott. He had also forced Clark to participate. Clark said quicklime was used to dispose of the remains, and the bones had been dumped in the desert. The Northcotts had fled to Canada and they were arrested near Vernon, British Columbia.
June 10, 1991. Dugard was abducted from a school bus stop within sight of her home in South Lake Tahoe, California. She was 11 at the time of her abduction, and was missing for over 18 years. On August 26, 2009, Dugard appeared in the office of her alleged kidnapper's parole officer in California, and her identity was confirmed the following day.
Phillip Craig Garrido, 58, and his wife Nancy Garrido, 54, of Antioch, California were arrested for kidnapping and other charges; they are being held in jail awaiting trial. Law enforcement officers believe Dugard was kept in a concealed area behind Garrido's house in Antioch, California for 18 years.
No-one ever wants to think about these things, nobody wants to suspect the people down the street to be a convicted criminal that might reach out toward their children or the rest of their family.
