JoeOnTheMove Giving Away Free Plane Tickets and Phone Calls for Active Duty Soldiers Overseas
JoeOnTheMove is continuing in its mission of providing much needed support for active duty soldiers and military overseas. While traditionally, JOTM has focused on providing free phone calls for soldiers overseas (funded by advertising and loved ones here in the US), JOTM has begun to expand its offerings and, as a result of over 30,000 supporters, is now giving away at least one plane ticket to an active duty soldier to come home for the holidays.
To support this aggressive sponsor-driven campaign, conversations are currently underway with airlines to offer additional tickets for soldiers during this upcoming holiday season.
History:
Larry and Patrick created the concept for JoeOnTheMove while stationed together in South Korea. What started as the idea solve the problems that soldiers face overseas and connect military to their families back home blossomed into one of the largest campaigns to provide free calls home for active duty soldiers around the world.
Until JOTM, soldiers had to wait in long lines to access phones, were limited to only a few minutes per call, and even then faced the problems with calling cards- pricing as high as $0.40/minute!
In pursuing its basic mission, JOTM is now giving away one FREE Roundtrip Ticket to a soldier somewhere in the world to come home for the holidays. This effort is being funded by donations of generous people online through the active web and facebook community.
