Despite the economic downturn the EU wind energy market is experiencing a 1% growth on 2008. The EWEA reported that 8,600 MW of new wind energy capacity will be installed in the EU-27 in 2009, taking the EU’s cumulative installed capacity to 73,535 MW. It is clear that wind energy is the number one choice in efforts to move towards clean renewable power now and into the future.
