Although games are transmitted in real time, the player offers the possibility to pause the game, ensuring users do not miss a single second of their favourite sport. When resuming the game, the viewer can choose between two options: either pick up the stream from where he left off or go straight to the real time transmission. These two options can also be viewed simultaneously in case the user wishes to watch both feeds. Until now, this feature was only available to TV viewers with high end PVRs. Flumotion is now bringing it to the masses thanks to the internet.
In addition to the time travel feature, Flumotion’s player displays rich information and statistics during the course of the match. Research shows that displaying engaging information is a great tool to captivate viewers and prolong viewing times. The player will also allow users to place bets or access more than one game from the same player through a multi-tab functionality.
