Condo Vultures® Realty, the sister company of Condo Vultures® LLC is featured in the first 15 minutes of Capitalism: A Love Story, a new film that explores corporate greed in America. In a one-on-one interview, Condo Vultures® Realty's broker/owner Peter Zalewski addresses the real estate crash and corresponding foreclosure meltdown in South Florida.
Condo Vultures® Realty has also been highlighted in several trailers of the movie.
Capitalism: A Love Story is already playing in theaters in limited release in New York and Los Angeles. The film be released nationwide October 2.
Several scenes in the movie involving Zalewski have fueled the ire of West Coast movie reviewers and bloggers, in particular. But the way Zalewski sees it, what has transpired in South Florida and the rest of the nation is "Straight-Up Capitalism."
"Whether people want to acknowledge it or not, opportunistic buyers are playing a crucial role in helping the housing market to stabilize in certain parts of South Florida," said Zalewski, a principal with the Bal Harbour, Fla.-based real estate consultancy Condo Vultures® LLC. "As long as these would-be vultures transact business legally, ethically, and above board, we see no harm in them buying distressed properties that at one time were people's homes. Remember, today's opportunistic buyers are not the individuals or corporations to blame, per se, for the fact that many home owners overleveraged themselves thanks to the easy financing available during the boom."
