2010 Nissan Versa Named 2009 Top Safety Pick by IIHS at Naples Nissan Dealer

Sept. 24, 2009 - PRLog -- The 2010 Nissan Versa has earned a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety. The Top Safety Pick award recognizes vehicles that provide "superior overall crash protection among vehicles in their classes.”  The Versa joins the Nissan Murano, Nissan Rogue, and the Infiniti EX35 as a 2009 Top Safety Pick award winner.

About the 2009 Top Safety Pick
In order to receive a 2009 Top Safety Pick, a vehicle must earn a "Good" rating (the Institute's highest) in each of the front, side, and rear impact tests performed by the Institute and offer an electronic stability control system such as Nissan's Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC).

In November, IIHS will begin to announce winners of the 2010 Top Safety Pick award, which includes a "Good" rating in the IIHS roof crush test as new criteria. However, 2010 model year vehicles such as Versa were still eligible to receive the award according to the 2009 criteria.
